For fear of turning a LUG mailing list into a Windows lovefest, I'll
refrain from talking about how good I think Windows 7 is.
Similar to Kevanf with his philosophy of sticking with old hardware...
I'm most interested in being cutting edge without emptying my wallet.
So for example, I won't go out and buy an iPad (even if I didn't
despise Apple!), when I can get a Joggler for £50 and run Ubuntu on
it!

Isn't it more fun this way? :-) To try to squeeze as much
performance out of old and ancient kit as we can. For me it's like
sticking two fingers up at Microsoft, despite the fact that I do use
XP and admit that I quite like it. But then I ran Millenium with no
problems....
