Is it just me or is anybody else finding Yahoo slower than its normal
slooooow self today? Everything else seems to be ok on the web.

Loads fine here, not having any problems.
Sometimes your DNS might be a bit funny, or something is funny on your
ISP, unless its completely broken I shouldn't worry about it.

It's suddenly speeded up again here too :-) It has been doing this
for a day or two to be honest so it could be a DNS problem. I know
at least one Plus Net DNS server is bad.

I get some strange things here. Tried twice to d'load a distro the
other day, each time it got to 500MB the rate dropped to 20kB/sec then
failed. Kris got it for me but then threw the CD away so I never did
get to try it!

Actually, I used to have exactly that happen, Stuart. It was always
with Opera though. I haven't seen any downloads do it for a long time
now. The thing with Yahoo was that the page would start to load but
then it looked awful. If I tried it with Opera (Windows or Linux) it
loaded smoothly. Only Yahoo too not Google. Very odd....

not to do with yahoo, I dont use it. but for any of you who want to download
distros give bit torrent a try I've downloaded many a distro with it.

Though that is a sound suggestion, Jonothon, I must point out that
some broadband providers choke bittorrent traffic, additionally.. it
can sometimes be a slow process when there aren't many peers seeding
the content to you. I would recommend a Firefox plugin called
DownThemAll, a free and OSS download manager that integrates
seamlessly with Firefox.
Though don't just dismiss Bittorrent.
