That wouldn't make me cringe :-) MacOS is, after all based on BSD of
some form or another. Isn't it? Or am I behind the times and they

it is pretty much bsd... you can open a shell prompt... which is nice
if i'm honest, my next purchase will be a mac laptop of some sort, the
build quality is excellent...
haven't decided which one yet! will have to get myself a new job first.. haha

That is the big plus point with Mac's, their build quality is very
good. It's just shame about the horrendous price :-(

I think you may be missing the point. It already has an onboard
graphics card, DVD-R and some RAM. If you're trying to turn it into
a power workstation of course there are easier ways to achieve that
than by starting with something low power. Many people do not
require more than this in their everyday computer use.

Agreed. I currently run Kubuntu on my other PC with a lot lower spec
than this and it runs fantastically :-)

if you look at it as what it is - a cheap desktop machine
all you REALLY might want to add is maybe a 512 stick of ram... a
dvdrw if you plan on burning anything...

clearance for £70

go EEE! I wouldn't part with my EEE for it's usefulness! I've had a look
at that computer and would buy one for use as server or a cheap desktop.
It's good e-tailers are sort of taking linux seriously.
