Hi dave, et al,
Was a small meeting, but good to see Jon and Dave again.. Also, it was
nice to meet our 'new' Dave (Boucher) whom came along, too. :)
Just to clarify the Twitter suggestion: I know it's been suggested
before, and someone will probably be annoyed that they were ignored
before, but the idea was really just an answer to the following
question: How do you keep the front page of the website active, with
very small amounts of effort? Writing a blog post is a little involved,
but writing 140 chars isn't too much effort at all, so I thought that a
nifty Twitter plugin for Wordpress seemed like a brilliant idea.
.. However, you soon realise that having one 'Staffslug' account with
multiple users might be a bit bland, and awkward to update. I did think
that a 'group' on Twitter would be ideal, i.e. we can all post under
that name, but with our own accounts.. However, there doesn't seem to be
any method for this within the current incarnation of Twitter.
The most natural way I can think to incorporate this, that I can think
of, would be to tie all of our accounts into the aforementioned plugin,
but filter the tweets based upon a tag, say #staffslug. This way, we
could all tweet from our own accounts, and have the relevant material
appear on the website, where appropriate.
I'm not meaning to dishearten anyone whom is thinking of writing a
little article/how-to/blog post; that's still really required, but I
know myself that it does take time to find a good topic, write about it,
correct your spelling, etc. Tweeting may afford us the ability to
'appear' much more active in the short term.
And more activity seems to breed more members, which is nice. :)
Any thoughts?

Hello All,
Thank you for those who attended tonight's meeting.
We've had a quick chat about various things, which are:
1. Possible link in Twitter.
2. Have a IRC client within the main site.
3. House meetings. (Including BBQ's etc)
Next meeting to be on the 11th May at the same location.
Please let me know any ideas you have with the above (or any ideas in
general).
Thank you again for all those who have been putting content toward the
site, it is much appreciated.
Dave
