Hiya everybody. Well i think we should all arrange something on here as it is a little well... dead :) there r 87 members which is good, but well probably very few active ones. we should get it running and try and sort out a meet to well get to know all of us :)

Well popped in the Picture House (Wetherspoons??) after work seem good, cheap food, cheap drink could be a good meet place?? anyone else ideas? I quite liked the Picture House, and I like Wetherspoons pubs in general. The only downside is that it seemed to get quite noisy - it was difficult to hear people at times. A pub is probably the best bet, though. Ideally I'd suggest one that doesn't get too noisy and has somewhere where a bunch of us can all sit together. I don't know Stafford at all, so I can't suggest anywhere, I'm afraid. Hi All, I'm now back in the UK after a hard summer and would like to attend a meeting. Last time I tried everyone was hiding in a curry-house, this time maybe members could wear a red hat so as to be easily identified! After my summer away from Linux ( although I did meet a boat called 'Linux' whose owner worked for Debean) I'll be back to sqare one with the daft questions. Stuart

Meeting.. Hmm.. Good idea! Well.. I can do nights other than Tuesday or Thursday (there are my nights to look like a fool and jump around a room, but that's another story!) Could do with a little notice as I'm in the middle of doing my new (well.. yeah...sure...we just got asked "does anyone know the definition of software?" this is about to be 2 years of hell As/A2 computing god save me now it's access too! something i have not a clue about the use of.. oh this is killing me </rant>

Access is a vile everyday database program. dBase IV is still infinitely better...IMHO :-) I've used and trained on both so I know the differences..or used to...

yeah it does take a voodoo hand getting used to BSD's network er.. tools i guess, dhcp and NAT should have solved your problems, no?
