Hello All,
As we aren't having the official meeting this month, I decided to get the
ball rolling for Feb's meetings.
So, from emails flying around, there is requests for a different venue, so
does anyone else have another venue for the social meeting?

With regard to having a north staffs meet, firstly, how many people are
wanting this and also, if enough people wanted a meeting, then we could
have the following structure:
Op 1. Meet once a month along side the Stafford meeting

I don't have a great preference. I live in Stoke on Trent, and work in
Stafford :)

I would like the idea, I am based in Oakamoor at the moment,
travelling to stone for work and Hopton regularly, so anywhere is
good. But closer to Oakamoor would perhaps be good.

There's plenty of busses going in and out of Cheadle, as for the
surrounding areas, there are some D&G services, but I find them
unreliable.

I think some of those would work, Op 3 is probably the best, just have
a mixed tech-social up north and then full on alternating for the main
"staffs" meet.
Alternating the dates would be a good idea, imo. It would mean if
someone doesn't make it to the main meet they can then come to the
north one and catch up should they want to.

really unsuitable last time, was difficult to sit together, the football
and music meant no-one could hear each other and the food and drinks are
rather poor.

We moved to the Yard because it does nice food, isn't expensive and it's
fairly pleasant inside. It's only a very rare occasion that there's anything
else going on. We knew there would occasionally be football going on and
thought we could just move elsewhere when needed.
We moved away from Wetherspoons because it was a busy, dirty shithole where
we couldn't hear ourselves talk. I think we ended up catching "student
night" (i.e every night) a lot.
The situation may well have changed in the last 12 months and I'm happy to
try anywhere else. There's two pubs in Stafford that stick in my mind:
Radford Bank because it does an awesome carvery and the Tap and Spile
because it did cheap double JD's. The former might be worth a try, there's
plenty of space IIRC. The latter is smaller, more of a local place. Anyone
know if it's open still?
