I agree with most of whats been said about etailers so far.
Anyone tried the fedora 11 alpha yet? I couldnt get it to install. anaconda (the fedora
installer) threw up some weird error

since Ubuntu seems to have broken wireless networking in 8.10) but there
are LOADS of linux sites/lists working on problems and tech tips -
surely the emphasis for that StaffsLUG site has to be local info and
what's going on in our area?
For what it's worth; I don't see a problem with individuals contributing their own
articles and having them on the site. Not sure having it on the front page is ideal. Why
not have a section on the web site with links to outstanding howtos (perhaps acknowleging
the popular distros of the day)? This would be a useful reference resource particularly
for Linux newbies.
I think the list is a good place for help with narrow technical issues.

It's ACE. The mere fact that there is content is making me
happy.
A vibrant LUG is a great thing to behold. Edinburgh is awash with Linux

I would say that if someone was looking for an article that helped with
wireless networking in Fedora 10 then it's not ideal. You have a lot of
detail with initial commands and output, but then "I had to setup the wpa2
key but it all worked fine."
I reckon that's a bit of a leap and leaves me thinking "yes but how exactly
did you setup wpa2"
If it's just an interest article then fine.

Not annoying at all, it proves to the world we have people who know
stuff.. Just need an article on how to get wireless up and running on my
laptop... :o)
But I do think we need to move it into it's own section to keep the main
page to just a "welcome to..." (just need to figure out how to do it!)
From what I've been reading (just catching up after work, you have
been
busy on the list!), I'm thinking we could have a page of "Diary of A
Linux
User In Staffordshire" and we could each stick a 2 pence in
there(inflation dependant). There could always be a disclaimer at the
bottom of the page ;o)
On a side note, thank you to everyone for coming forward to help things
get going, it is much appreciated.
