Hi,
I have never been a fan of RPM setups in Linux...i nortmally brake
something...or it just does not work.
I have been wanting to get VMWare working on linux for ages, because that
means i can run the faster, more stable versions of linux as my main OS
instead of bloody Windows(!)
I have tried to install VMWare Workstation 5X with my genuine key for ages
on Suse, Fedora and Kubuntu....with NO success...
So i was wondering if anyone here has any ideas or tutorials to install it?

VMWare *player* is available in the Ubuntu repositories - I'm currently
using it on Ubuntu Edgy, and I used to use it on Dapper. I just

have you considered debian/gentoo - there's probably something in
either apt or portage which installs workstation by now, that'd be
worth a look.. i'll take a look tomorrow, but for now g'night!

Now that's funny I'm the opposite .debs generally go tits up for me or

OK I can help with SuSE although I think I have Player running on my
FC6 cant remember for the minute and its at home anyway.
I've just spent an hour trawling god dam Novells site looking for the
instructions I have the link at home so I'm afraid you'll have to wait
until 6.30pm onwards.
If memory serves me right you'll need to change a couple of bits, what
version of SuSE do you plan to put it on? This is critical as we need
to get an extra package and they are all versioned.

OK I can help with SuSE although I think I have Player running on my
FC6 cant remember for the minute and its at home anyway.

The Wallpaper is from SuSE 9.3 then I run Beryl

desktop manager they're in a bit of a mess for the minute as their
servers HDD failed but its getting back to normal slowly.
Its got a cool feature where any window bursts in flames when I
minimise it also the desktop is in fact a cube which I can rotate. :-)
The two sensor displays (Top right and left) are Superkaramba (KDE)
