RE: meet and google calendars
For Google mail users there is a nice lab feature which allows you to
add a calendar to the inbox page
Does anyone want to set up a google calendar? Are we interested?

Don't / can't use IRC @ work! I use google calendar so I'b be interested.
Would not exclude dates from the web site though for the sake of potential
noobs

If you 'share' the calendar you can always post a link in the
'Meet'
announcement email.
Having said that I would have thought a better idea would be to have the
Lugs own 'Events' Calendar on its website. Also ensure the new website
has an RSS feed which anyone can add to their mail client be that at
work or where ever that way if you post "The next meeting is...." it
will drop in their feed even if they are too lazy to check their
personal mail account.

I guess that has an advantage but imho I'd say google calendars would be better. You
can easily embed them into the LUG site and probably(!) get the data in an RSS feed but..
they are super easy to share and overlay against your own calendar.
For example I've got some work events, friends calendars and random other calendars
all in one place so I can immediately see conflicts..etc.. Rather than a separate page
you'd have to check..etc.. :)

I've not looked Google Calendars yet but, if they are anything like
Yahoo! Calendars then they'll be very useful. I'll admit I rely
heavily on Yahoo Calendars for my Freecycle work.
