Ok, so I've got Compiz fusion installed on my Kubuntu 7.10 box. It
seems to be there, well, I have the control panel bit and I've set it
for rotating cube... so why doesn't it work I wonder?
Any ideas? I have restarted the x-server (logged out and did it
rather than pressing the F key because I forgot which one it was). I
do have 3d rendering enabled as I get the Nvidia splash screen come on
just after rebooting the x-server. Do I need to do a complete system
reboot though? Are there kernel bits that need to start?
I'm all ears folks :-)

What's not working?
Are you using fusion-icon? (Although I think that is depreciated now)
It worked fine on Linux Mint (Just deleted that and installed F8)

Arch Linux is an independent i686-optimized community distribution for
intermediate and advanced Linux users. Utilising a Rolling Release
System packages are regularly updated and an ISO release is just a
snapshot to the stable packages at that time. So there's no need for a
fresh install the command 'pacman –Syu' upgrades the whole system.

Erm...anything.... The desktop is exactly the same as before. Is

I've not even had chance to look on there. I don't tend to hold much

Sorry, I can't really say anymore than I have. I really don't know if
I should press a certain button somewhere or not.

Anyway.. to bring this up to date... I've now done a reboot (weird
doing that with this PC as I just normally leave it on
24/7/4/52...well, for a few weeks anyway). Do I have compiz effects
yet? What do you think? Nope!!! If nobody has any other ideas of
what to try do I have permission to try another LUG to see if I have
any luck there? I don't want to start cross posting without
permission :-/

Hang on for Kris, he's back now from sliding down a mountain on two
planks. He's the Ubuntu trick effects wizard. No good asking me as I
looked at wobbly windows for two minutes then uninstalled the whole
lot. Waste of drive space.

Thank you good sir :-) I'll give it a go tomorrow because the
