Looks like you got quite far! That IP looks familiar - is it a
tmobile web-n-walk card? Did you use any specific drivers for it?

Matthew,

I think these two links cover it. Mine used to be ttyUSB0 and ttyUSB1
(XP sees it as two devices as well when you install Huawei s'ware.)
iface before new kernel was "eth0:avah" but now is "ppp0"
I've found an app to give stats now but it's a "tar bz ./confuse
make&&make mess thingy" so have to do some loin-girding before
tackling that!
My hardware is a Huawei E220 usb modem. It's been unlocked so will
work with any sim, these things are locked to the system during
manufacturer's setup so require a firmware flash.
I want to use it on the boat all summer so can't be stuck with a UK
sim paying roaming charges.
Yes, it's a Tmob payg sim in it at the moment.
In gprs coverage it's hopeless 6KB/sec ( OK for mail) but with umts I
get 50KB/sec d'load - just like early home bband!
Huawei claim that it'll handle 4g so should be good when that starts.
