We keep getting more users stumbling onto the site, which is a great
thing (it's at what 70 odd now?).. So lets get a meet setup - I'm
thinking social in a bar/pub, then again we could go the formal &
social route if anyone knows a place to do presentations (then the bar
after to do some thinking or...drinking)? Throw some suggestions back
and we can set it for mid-march 18-19 time or so, which will give a
good 3 weeks for the calendar. Reply with ideas for style, times,
venues.. or suggestions for topics? i.e. Linux on laptops? Linux and
wireless? Linux and the next 10 years?..The direction of server
software development for the mobile generation? Or reply if you think
I'm a fool who should shutup also ;-)
It'd be good to get some more events/reviews onto the site. Anyway,

I think that a social in a pub is likely to be our best bet. It's
easier to organise, and everyone can come along and expect to get
something out of it. A presentation, on the other hand, is likely to
only appeal to a relatively small sub-section.

Sounds good to me. Monday evenings are bad for me, any other evening
is as likely to be good/bad as any other. Jen should have moved down

Weekdays are good for me - I was thinking weekends because of
commitments the next day. So how about thursday 16 march (curry night
at wetherspoons.. curry and beer from £3.49) at around 6:30 - 7pm ish.
Until... whenever we pull ourselves out of the chairs!
I'll forward this info to the forum so you can stick a "i'm coming"
post on there.. and we'll get an idea of whether this is good for all
and who to expect. Also, if anyone wants to give me a ride from
packmoor-ish (st74gj) area - it'd save me going 30mph all the
way...and back! ;)

If you don't mind going 30mph to my house (Tunstall - ST6 6AD), then I
should be able to give you a lift from there. According to Google Maps,
you're less than 3 miles from me, so it should be OK for you, but it
also means that I don't run the risk of getting lost ;-)

By far, the most fun ride i think i've ever had that night. Second he

Well I get 30 uphill ( restriction is still on there ) and i get about
55 downhill.. flat i get about 45ish.. But I mean in a car.. I thought
it was nuts when my step dad decided to see if he could do 130 on the
way to Betley, Mart's car pulls like hell - and you feel it because of
the rear wheel drive.
