Yeh, but when it's not the bios - because in certain hardware arrangements (with no hard drive) it boots normally, same without a cdrom.. so they're both rendered useless (binned them a while back).. i replaced them and found it wouldn't write to the hard disk.. i'd call that a motherboard issue and leave it as a footstool :) - so much for my sister's "cbeebies" machine (yes thats all she goes on!) but hey, i gained a footrest so it's all good! - except for her i guess Regards, Andrew -- Thank You Andrew J.
