you might have bought just before LCD's shifted to being better,
bigger (err... if that makes sense?)
contrast ratios have gotten much better, and the technology has come
far in the past 18 months... infact i'm currently shopping for a 40+
LCD for gaming... hard to decide which are better i find...
It is always possible. At the time I had no choice as our tv had
died, completely. I wanted to wait another 12 months and if I had I
would have saved myself at least £100 on the price. As it was this tv
that I bought, and which I am still absolutely pleased with 2 yrs down
the line, cost me just under £1,000 Which at the time wasn't a bad
price.
As far as I am aware the general concensus of opinion in tech forums
etc is that plasma still beats LCD over 40". Now that is purely
hearsay and I admit it as I have not gone comparing LCD and plasma
myself since I made my purchase. No need :-) Perhaps in about 8 or
10 years I will be comparing again.
Oh, at the time I bought ours I did web look ups but I based my final
buying decision on what I could personally see. If LCD had looked
better then I'd have an LCD screen now. I also rejected some models
that were over £500 more expensive simply because the picture quality
was not as good as the one I finally decided on.
