Gnome here (with compiz) on my Ubuntu install.
I went through a period of going for the 'ultra lean' desktop when I was
fiddling with Slackware (we're talking Summer 2004 here) and I tried
fluxbox/xfce at the time, but I'm quite happy with the 'full fat'
desktop manager to be fair.
I just can't kick the compiz addiction. It's awesome. :)
