[Staffslug] Government response to the iPlayer petition

Here's the government's response to a petition sent to it some time ago concerning the proposed new BBC iPlayer service. This service will roll out only for use on the Windows platform to start with. It will be Windows XP and Vista only so further narrowing its scope of use. http://www.pm.gov.uk/output/Page13090.asp Now, my personal view on this is that on the face of it, it actually makes perfect sense to trial the new player on the most widely used OS. My anger is that they 'appear' to have only considered other platforms (OS's) after being moaned at by both Linux and BSD and Mac users.
