There are a few Linux downloaders available. I've not used them so I
can't recommend one I'm afraid. Basically a downloader will step in
when you click the link to download a file. It will take over and
allow you to grab so much of the file then, if you wish, pause it or
even switch your PC off altogether. It will then pick up the file
where it left off last time when you switch on again.
