well as the new member i find it slightly amusing, but also a bit sad too. but then i also
found the response from someone when pre-arranged IRC meet was suggested was quite
bewildering, something about it not being on their terms LOL.
the wonderful thing about linux is you can choose you level of involvement now, you can
distro-hop til you find something that is easy as clicking an install button, but then on
that very same o/s you can learn exactly whats going on with you system and choose to see
things on that level.
and i wouldn't be afraid to ask for help on here, but i probably would goto
UbuntuForums first, as thats just where i usually go when googling doesn't give any
reward simply for the fact that there are so many people on there, so generally you get
good rounded answers. also, i much prefer the forum format than mailing lists.

I will continue to use Caps lock in the vain it is meant, I am neither
for or against anyone but I will not stand by and see deliberate
'personal' attacks regardless of who's fault it is.
In my 47 years of experience I have come to the opinion that responses
worded in the manner it was require a firm a response I also view that
post as bullying.
Nobody deserves to be spoken to that way by anyone whatever the reason
and of all places in medium where we are all supposed to be friends
together, nobody pays any money towards it and it is a service offered
to anyone.
If an idiot (And I'm not saying Kevan is an idiot) is not welcome here
or on any mailing list and cannot be treated in a civil, adult mature
manner then I hope Linux dies tomorrow.
It makes me sick, everyone was crying two days ago how quiet this list
was things start moving again and look what happens? I'm beginning to
wish it had stayed quiet. We've just had a new member what a good example
of this small community we have given him, I bet he will have a real
panic attack if he needs some help quick and he knows in his heart of
hearts its a really simple thing.
