Hmmm, I said this months ago about MS. I think that they may look at
offering a MS Linux along the lines of Linspire. They may even
attempt to buy out Linspire and then revamp it with various multimedia
codecs etc that are not normally legally available. Perhpas adding a
Linux version of MS Office and a guaranteed support package for most
popular hardware. Think about it, even though Linux is far better now
with hardware it still isn't anywhere near perfect. If MS were to
totally embrace Linux with its inherent security but, put in their own
proprietary stuff and charge about £60 or £70 for it I bet they would
make a killing. Of course, if the kernel (Linux) goes GPL3 then they
will not be able to do that (Idon't think, but the legalities are
complex so I could be wrong).
Time will tell...
