If this is the service I think it is, it's a free/open source version
of twitter. I've never used any of them, don't really see the point
personally.
I use both twitter and identi.ca, using gwibber on the desktop to
update them both. We (Ubuntu UK Podcast) also use them both to send
out updates when a new episode is available.
