I don't use any of them but I can't help thinking spreading a community
with so few active members as staffslug over so many services/sites is a
little premature. The current irc channel has a few people idling in there
and to be honest I have no idea about the numbers you have in the other
things you mentioned.
I guess I'm suggesting you pick one form of chat and stick to it until you
have enough members to populate others.

The IRC channel from before is still there, there now also a Discord
channel (see the site for the link) and at some point there will be a an
XMPP MUC room too.
When the XMPP bit is done we'll look into some kind of bot to sync up
the chat logs between all 3 protocols.
