Yeah I've seen Pi laptop conversion kits before.
They all look very promising (particularly since the Pi 4 actually has
the proper grunt to now run a decent distro).
But having used the SunFounder RasPad 1 tablet

based)... I can say that battery life is an issue.
Since the Raspberry Pi series just wasn't meant to work in that fashion,
it might just be that they don't work great off batteries... either that
or the Linux distro's just aren't optimised enough for it.
I've actually donated that RasPad 1 to the LUG so it's in the CoCoLab
room (where we do the workshops) if anyone wants a try.
I can always bring the RasPad 3 too if anyone wants a try... I've got a
little credit-card sized bit of plastic

holds 8 microSD's too - so it's easy for people to swap the OS for the
many different OS's a Pi can run.
