The lovely people at FSFE Potteries are running an event for LibreLocal
this year at the usual KPA location.
See the details below. This won't be going on Meetup.com however as
it's an FSFE Potteries meeting... but you'll find plenty of Linux users
there :)

Hello again!
Some of you may have read my earlier emails about GLLUG (down in London)
hosting a LibreLocal 2026 meeting (they only started doing them last year!)
Well it's got us inspired here at FSFE Potteries... and the train ticket
prices are just awful for getting down there (at least last minute
anyway)! So we're running of these events ourselves too up here!
It'll be Saturday 23rd May from 6pm onwards at the usual KPA Clubhouse.
If you've not been to a meeting before just look for a cuddly looking
one of these on a table with some happy Free Software using people
huddled around it :)

If this works out, we could do one of these every May.
Hope to see you there. Should just be a good excuse to have a catch up
and socialise... we're not booking the upstairs room (like we do with
ILoveFS day) so no activities (like a quiz), free food, or giveaways
this time :)
BUT! Do feel free to bring along card games and such... particularly if
they're under Creative Commons :P (but I won't hold you to it!)

mailing list... just in case anyone from the LUG would be interested too!
Note to Meetup.com users... I don't think you'll EVER find FSF
LibreLocal meetings on Meetup.com! MEETUP.COM IS NOT FREE (as in
FREEDOM) :P
FSFE meetings /*possibly*/ might start going on there? (I've always
avoided it so far)... but there has always been an argument over the
absolutist v.s. pragmatist nature of FSF vs FSFE :)

Hello everyone!
Only just found out about this 2 days ago as I got an automated invite
in my mailbox.
It seems that there will be a LibreLocal 2026 meetup in *London* this
*Saturday, May 16, 2026, 12:00-16:00 BST*.
I had no idea about these events! Apparently they now happen every May
and only started last year... so if you're interested in FSFE Potteries
running one too then let me know! (perhaps 23rd or 30th could work for us?)
I've had a quick chat with the organiser of this London event (his name
is Matthew) who seems nice enough, and told him about FSFE and the
ILoveFS events... it seems he has heard of FSFE Potteries too :)
This is the the original invite below... so I'm sharing it out...
I do have some plans that day, but nothing I can't re-arrange so I'm
tempted to nip down on the train after all...
