Just a suggestion, Steven... more and more users these
days are using a
commercial hosting service for simplicity - perhaps you could "weave in"
relevant issues/considerations to your talk? I'm thinking about the
importance of static IP address(es) and security issues (taint checking
of variables, etc., etc.) relevant to both scenarios.
The 3rd December*was* going to be (but was never confirmed) the talk
on
CAcert, but the guy who was going to do the talk was preferring it be
further away from Christmas. So this is now definitively going to be on
the 11th February instead.
Duly noted... given that multiple ID documentation is
required for the
notary process - I appreciate that not everyone will be interested in
actually obtaining one or more certificates - it might be an idea to
flag up the required ID documentation quite a while prior to 11 February
so that there's enough time to get these to bring along on the evening.
Alex Robertson can confirm the detail, but IIRC 1 x government-issued
photo document /(e.g. photo driving licence, passport)/ and 1 x address
document bearing individual's name /(e.g. utility bill but NOT mobile
phone bill)/ is the minimum.
We're also going to be inviting other local LUG's I've
been talking to,
to participate and come over for the CAcert one, and possibly other
cross-talks too.
Good idea, especially for the CA Cert one, for the same reasons in
the
original e-mail suggesting this...
As for the 17th December workshop... the thought has been to have a
little "end of quarter" round off meeting, maybe play with that Tux
robot a bit (a bit of fun basically) and also some lightning talks (5 to
10 minute) if people are interested in doing that? (an idea that the
bunch of us which went Oggcamp this year got).
Again, good idea.
