Lo folks!
Just a quick reminder about tomorrow's workshop meeting.
Darren will be covering the world of networked CCTV, as well as which
ones are good/bad and how they can be managed/monitored through
various systems.
I know this has had a few people interested, so pop along.
As usual starts at 7pm with doors opening from 6pm (NOT before, not
without foreknowledge anyway!).
As usual details on how to get to the workshop are on the website
here...

Hope to see you there.
I would have really liked to have come to this but it's just not
feasible given the round trip would be almost 3 hours.
I'd be interested to hear the recommendations for cameras, firmware,
protocols and control systems as it was something I'd been thinking
about since last summer.
Currently I use an old Raspberry Pi with a Pi camera and ZoneMinder as a
stopgap and have been looking for more extensible solutions. I've been
meaning to look at Shinobi and MotionEye and get some more practical
cameras.
I bought a cheap outdoor wifi security camera which turned out to be one
of many rebranded Tuya cameras and was surprised to realise there's no
option to mail or upload the pictures/video to a location of your own
choosing. You have to use a mobile to manage the camera, pay a
subscription to have the video uploaded to the vendor's platform and I
wasn't able to find a third-party firmware when I looked.
