This is also going out on Facebook / reddit / Twitter / Meetup / Discord so possibly some new faces too. *Tuesday 22nd November 2022*– Topic: The World of Wine 2022 Presenter(s): Steven Maddox Location:CoCoLab <https://staffslug.org.uk/events#Workshops> Time: 6:30pm (main activities starting at 7pm)// * What WINE actually does, what it stands, and when you should try and use it. * WINE forks (such as Cedega, Crossover, and Proton) and other projects using Wine code. * Easy to use interfaces for WINE such as Crossover, PlayOnLinux, and others. * Windows issues you’ll see in WINE and how things like ‘winetricks’ can help. * Writing scripts to get Windows applications installed perfect every time. * How WINE can actually be better than running an application on Windows. We're normally wrapped up within 2 hours, some people stick around longer. So enough time to quickly get some tea (is that too northern? an "evening meal" I guess) and then come out and join us :) Details of that 'CoCoLab' venue are on the site <https://staffslug.org.uk/events/#Workshops> but basically stick ST5 5NB into your sat-nav/phone and you'll find a building that looks like the below photo... be sure to use the 2nd entrance (it's the lower half of the building) marked by the big red arrow I've drawn!
